For a more European view of WW2 military museums then try this Hungarian site. Links to show museums all over Europe, with maps, videos and reports from many of these sites. Very professional and full of interest. Well worth a look!

A site about Italian history of war. Much of interest and some good links too. A chance to polish up your Italian!

Bunker Pictures. Pictures, locations, information about bunkers from WW2, The Atlantikwall and the Cold War. Another interesting site!

Something very nasty lurking in the Thames Estuary? A Liberty ship loaded with explosive sank here and remains in shallow waters, ready to re-arrange some well known real estate in Southend and Sheerness. An insight into an almost forgotten disaster in waiting!

This is a site about the WW2 British coastal battery at a place called Pengerang in South Malaysia. Surpisingly complete remains of this site far from Britain.

Nick McCamley has written extensively about the underground facilities in the Corsham area, and elsewhere. A fascinating site.

Coventry was well known in WW2 for the destruction wrought by the Luftwaffe. Here is a site with some details of Coventry, and information about family history research too.

Much of the UK was close to a defence line in WW2, and Somerset had its fair share. Somerset Pillboxes shows some of the more interesting history of the area and its defences.

WW2 was a long time ago, but you can still see bits of it re-enacted. If you want to know about WW2 re-enactment, then go here for an interesting site with forums about it.

Mark Brotherton's huge pictorial tour of WW2 8th Air Force bases in Eastern England. Mark served here at Alconbury, Mildenhall and Lakenheath during the Cold War and obviously spent a lot of time seeking out these old sites!

Those of you of "a certain age" may have a little cold shudder at the name Nancekuke. Others may recall WW2, but whatever have a look here!

Once part of the ROTOR network of early warning radar bunkers, and now one of the original Cold War museums, is Scotlands Secret Bunker at Troywood, Fife. An excellent website and a better day out!

The Royal Air Force Museum. Britains only museum dedicated entirely to aviation. Sited at Hendon, on the original London aerodrome. An excellent day out!

The Orkney were also prepared to resist the Nazi invaders. This site gives a fascinating insight into what remains.

Bentwaters and its close neighbour Woodbridge were huge Cold war airfields. This site gives and excellent historical overview of Bentwaters.

The Avro Vulcan was perhaps the best known V bomber. This excellent site has information about and many high quality pictures of the Vulcan.

There were many military camps around the UK at one time and most are now gone. This is the history of just one of them, Houndstone Camp.

There were a number of hardened telephone exchanges around the UK built in the 1950's. This site is about Anchor, in Birmingham. The original site seems to have gone but the information is here.

A most interesting site called White Cliffs Underground. Lots of interesting sites, huge amounts of pictures!

Kelvedon Hatch, the biggest and probably the best secret nuclear bunker.

Hack Green, another secret nuclear bunker! This one has some extraordinary kit and is well worth a visit.
